Negative Thoughts

John 8:44 (KJV) Says, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."  I Peter 5:8 (KJV) Says, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

In the above verse of scripture, taken from the book of John, Jesus is speaking to a group of Jews who are seeking to kill him. In this verse he makes crystal clear that Satan is the father of lies, and that the truth is not in him. The Bible tells us in the above verse of scripture taken from I Peter that Satan not only roams the earth, but that he does so like a roaring lion looking for people to devour. That tells us that Satan's presence is strong in this world, and that he is fierce and relentless in his aim to destroy us, and to lead us away from the Lord.

Satan uses many methods in an attempt to destroy our lives, steal our joy, and to lead us away from our walk with God. He will fill our minds with negative thoughts, he will offer worldly possessions, tempt some with addicting poisons, offer some wealth and fame, use people, fill our hearts with negative emotions such as pride, envy, greed, lust, unforgiveness, hatred, jealousy, and fear, and this is just to name a few of the tools in his arsenal. He will do whatever he can within his power to lure you and keep you away from God and the blessed plan God has for your life.  The most popular of Satan's methods is filling our minds with negative thoughts.

If Satan is successful in filling our minds with negative thoughts then he is able to control us. Know this, God never places negative and discouraging thoughts in your mind. That is not who he is. I urge you to recognize any negative thoughts that you may experience as exactly what they are; lies from Satan himself, and I urge you to rebuke them immediately in the name of Jesus Christ. God is loving, understanding, forgiving, merciful, peaceful, kind, and all things good. Remember always that you are a child of God with God given gifts, that you are loved, you are worthy, you are capable, you are beautiful, you are unique, and that you can do all things through Christ.

If you have a prayer request and would like me to pray for you, please leave me a message and I will be more than happy to do so. May God bless you!
