Remember Who You Are

Genesis 1:27 (KJV) Says "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them." I Peter 4:10 (KJV) Says As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."

The above verse of scripture from the book of Genesis tells us that God created us in His own image. God is all things good. He is almighty, powerful, kind, loving, forgiving, merciful, and so much more. We will never be exactly like God because we are human beings, but we were created in His image. I don't think any of us would consciously look down upon anything God created, yet when it comes to ourselves we sometimes fail to remember who we are, and who created us. We are children of the most high God, created by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and He loves each one of us tremendously. He loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for our sins. Knowing that God created us, He created us in His own image, and that He loves us enough to sacrifice His only Son for us, how can we look down on ourselves or any one else for that matter?

Not only did God create us, but as the above scripture taken from the book of  I Peter tells us, He gave us all at least one gift. He gifted each of us in at least one area, and therefore we are all gifted in special ways, thanks to our Lord and Savior. Knowing this, how can we say things like "I'm no good at anything," or "I'm worthless" or talk badly about ourselves in any way? Negative statements like this should never come out of our mouths, and if they enter our minds we need to reject them immediately recognizing that Satan put them there. Replace the lies with facts. You were created by almighty God in His own image, you are gifted, and God loves you tremendously.

Maybe you're not happy with where you're at right now in your life, but don't allow that to fuel negativity and then aim said negativity it at yourself. Instead, go to God in prayer surrender all to Him, and let Him know that you realize you are His creation, His child, and that you are gifted. If you are not sure what your gift or gifts are, ask God in prayer for the answer to that question. You probably already know what your gift or gifts are, but have never viewed them as such. What things do you do well? What do you have a passion for and enjoy doing? Don't waste the precious gift or gifts that God has blessed you with, put them to good use by allowing Him to accomplish whatever He desires to accomplish by working through you.

Whenever you're discouraged or feeling down, stop and take a moment to remember who you are. Remember that you are special, and that you are the only one of you. Remember that God created you in His own image, and that you are gifted. Remember God loves you so much that He sent  his only Son to die on the cross for your sins. Decide to live your life walking in love, with joy and God's divine peace in your heart. Remember you are a child of God, and He loves you tremendously.

If you have a prayer request and would like me to pray for you, leave me a message and I will be more than happy to do so. May God bless you.
